BIOGRAPHY

No panic, Ja, Panik is in the house! This collaboration of five is one of the most engaging musical outfits to come out of Austria in recent years. Having moved to Berlin Ja, Panik quickly made a name as one of the most interesting bands in town. Influenced by the Hamburger Schule they combine twisted indiepop music that constantly catches you off guard with absurd and humorous lyrics in both English and German.

On their recordings, the band manages to keep the balance between rock and “Hamburger Schule”, Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, and to strike a compromise between straightforward, energetic music and puzzling, yet complex, discursive lyrics full of eclectic citations and references.
