BIOGRAPHY

YUGO (formerly known as Jugo Ürdens) is considered one of the most promising newcomers of the German-speaking hip hop scene. Born in Skopje, his father is from Macedonia, his mother from Serbia. The now 22-year-old rapper came to Vienna at the age of seven, where he grew up in the 16th district.

In 2016 he released his first self produced EP “Ajde” – including the single “DiesDas”. The song “Österreicher” gives a theatrical view of what it means to live as a foreigner in Austria, outlined with very tough rhymes. In addition to his own music, he also works as producer and beat maker for his label colleague EINFACHSO.

His ironic handling of political topics and hip hop clichés brought him attention well beyond Austria’s borders. Not only local media such as Radio FM4 or Heute feature the young musician, but also Swiss and German media like Backspin, JUICE or ARTE have come to the liking of the handsome Viennese. YUGO was already able to shine with his live performances at Austrian festivals such as the Donauinselfest, Waves Festival or the FM4 Frequency Festival. His debut album “YUGO” was released in fall 2018 via Futuresfuture, followed by a sold-out tour with German rapper RIN.
