Since releasing his first EP “Magic” in 2015, MP The Kid, formerly known as M.P., has already celebrated considerable success: Besides profoundly establishing his name in the Austrian music scene, he managed to reach #2 in the Radio FM4 charts with the single “Good Life”. Radio FM4, which is the biggest Austrian youth radio station, also chose MP The Kid as their “Soundpark Act of the Month”, an honour that only few newcomers get to claim for themselves.
These achievements were followed by numerous live shows. He even managed to play both, the Nova Rock and Frequency Festival in the same year. In 2016 he also performed as the support act for the Grammy Award winning duo Twenty One Pilots in the sold-out Gasometer. Furthermore, he got nominated for the Austrian Amadeus Music Award in 2016 and 2017.
MP The Kid stands for innovative and urban pop music. His aspiration is to not only write his own lyrics, but also record, produce, mix & master all of his songs by himself. While his visual style draws inspiration from the 50s and 60s, his tracks are influenced by modern rap and bouncy pop music – catchy hooks, extensive synths and danceable beats. With only two EPs out, he also already reached remarkable numbers on Spotify (“Good Life” > 560.000, “Places” > 210.000 Streams).
In 2017 MP The Kid signed to Gerard’s new Label FuturesFuture, on which he released his DIY-Album “Dreams from Above“. It tells a personal story about dreams, visions and beliefs featuring a very energetic and powerful sound. In 2019 MP The Kid continued his journey releasing new singles. “Party PartTime” was one of his best performing singles across streaming services and also managed to chart at #2 in the FM4 Radio Charts. He’s now following up with “Stay”, which he has written, produced, mixed and mastered by himself. The song deals with a certain situation at a party, where your crush’s partner wants to leave, but apparently… “she wanna stay”. This topic that might be familiar to some, is backed with a trap/pop crossover instrumental, which MP is known for from previous songs like “Places”.
