BIOGRAPHY

Roadwolf is influenced by the metal and hard rock of the late 70s and early 80s, though the complexity of their music defies easy categorization –  in any case, the band members take comparisons with headliners of this era as a compliment. Their 2020 debut album Unchain The Wolf garned considerable international acclaim, landing them among the top 3 newcomers in the Rock Hard, Metal Hammer and Deaf Forever readers’ polls and mentions in Classic Rock and eclipsed rock magazine, which praised the songs as “brutal hits and neckbreakers.”

The press also took note of their atypical song ingredients, such as harmonica and blues elements, and the uncompromising common thread that runs through the songs of the unleashed wolves. In the words of frontman “Franky” Bauer, “We play classic heavy metal with British or American influences, but create our own sound. Sometimes we rub the people the wrong way, but most of them welcome the change.” The band has been at work on the follow-up to theirdebut album, and now the time has come. Behold: The Midnight Lightning Strikes!
