BIOGRAPHY
SOIA’s sound is adorned with playful melodies, and fuses HipHop, R&B, NuSoul and Jazz over saturated and ample beats. The downright lyrics offer deep insights into SOIA’s soul. The music revives her musical roots of the nineties and molds it with her intrinsic love and appreciation for Fusion Jazz, Soul vocalists, East African pentatonic and West African drum patterns.
She has appeared live at festivals and radio shows such as SXSW, BBC London and Sonic Visions, as well as at numerous club gigs from Cape Town to Taipei. To further exteriorize her message, she started producing music for the upcoming album “Euphoria & Paranoia”, to be released on her label “Tiger Milk Music”. Beforehand, Pale Male and Soia cooked up a sonic offering taking shape as “Cocoon”. The EP will take its sweet time evolving throughout the year of 2023.
