BIOGRAPHY

ZINN exists since winter 2018. With their self-titled debut album they appeared for the first time beyond the Viennese “Gürtel Bars” and presented their chanson punk. Bold, fearless, melancholic, urgent and yearning, they address the world.
ZINN are always in dialectical discourse. In the rehearsal room they not only make music, but also discuss. With the end of the year their 2nd studio album – Chthuluzän – will be released on Staatsakt. A concept album, in which a new form of living together is outlined: the becoming with and making related to all living beings of the planet, whether it crawls, swims, walks or thrives, has nose, trunk, flower or snout. 

Intertwined with eco- and queerfeminist influences, the band fights patriarchy and capitalism. The band sees itself not only as genderfluid, but also as “memberfluid”. ZINN consists mainly of Margarete Wagenhofer, Lilian Kaufmann, Jasmin Strauss and Leonie Schlager. In the studio they are always joined by other musicians. To remain restless is the credo of their work.
