BIOGRAPHY
Duo Scheck blends the distinctive sounds of zither and guitar into a subtle musical language that is deeply rooted in alpine tradition while embracing a wide range of influences. Magdalena and Theresa Scheck draw inspiration from the melodies and musical traditions of their homeland in the Salzkammergut, weaving them together with elements of classical music, jazz, and contemporary folk to create a unique artistic voice. With remarkable musicality, sonic finesse, and a keen sense for shaping atmospheric arcs, they create music that reimagines the familiar while effortlessly crossing genre boundaries.
Their sound is both grounded and richly nuanced, combining warmth and clarity with a sense of openness and discovery. At its heart is the extraordinary musical connection between the two sisters, which gives their music its distinctive character and vitality.
