BIOGRAPHY

Helene Glüxam is a stylistically versatile musician who knows how to move excellently in the most diverse musical contexts. She is at home in both global music (Kurdophone) and experimental pop, which she opens up to jazz and improvisation in an exciting way with the quartet HALM. In her solo programme, the Viennese focuses on her instrument, the double bass, whose low notes she combines with her high-pitched singing voice.
A contrast that creates a lot of tension. Minimalist in tone and with unconventional playing techniques, she creates stylistically wide-ranging compositions that develop their very own expression and their own intimate vibrancy and are difficult to categorise. Her music paints intense atmospheric pictures that convey a very unique kind of song and unfold a great deal of atmosphere.
