BIOGRAPHY

Tyrolean rapper Spilif and producer Rudi Montaire proved their great love for hip-hop with their first joint single release ‘Let’s fall in Love’. After their first joint EP ‘Das Leben tarnt sich nur als Schnitzeljagd’ (2020 via HHV), a single collaboration between Spilif and Jo Stöckholzer followed with ‘Geschichtsbücher’ (2020 via unserallereins).

With the second EP release by rapper Spilif with her beatmaker Rudi Montaire ‘lost tracks’ (2021 via unserallereins), you get what it says on the tin – 5 almost lost songs. A collection of demos that the two recorded in 2019 but had to put work on them on hold due to global circumstances. The title not only refers to the fact that these songs would have been lost without a release, but also to Spilif (Innsbruck) & Rudi Montaire (Heidelberg) themselves. Due to travel restrictions, the two could not see each other for a long time, lost personal contact and performance opportunities, as the boards that mean the world were no longer accessible. However, the positive aspect of finding what they thought was lost was not lost either on the EP or in real life. Producer Rudi Montaire now also lives in Innsbruck. On ‘lost tracks’, Spilif showed her usual philosophical side, but in a new context. It takes a retrospective look at the various stages of life, dealing with highs and lows, reflection, the individual and society. House and yard producer Rudi Montaire remained true to his melancholic sound, but at the same time dared to take a more experimental approach to making beats and is responsible for all the instrumentals on the second EP.

In 2022, Spilif rapped to a beat by friend and fellow musician Claptu. The result was the single ‘Nazaré’ (2022 via unserallereins), which was played on the rotation of Austria’s biggest alternative radio station ORF radio FM4.
