FM4 Soundpark is a web platform, community, and radio show for and with Austrian musicians. In an ongoing collaboration, FM4’s team recommends particular artists of the moment to amplify. Today, the honor goes to: BIBIZA’s newest single, “Frank”.
But, who exactly is Frank? And “Who The F*ck Is Frank? Who The F*ck Is François? Who The F*ck Is Francis?” – Questions posed and not answered on posters all across Vienna, mysteriously whetting our appetite for the new material by the acclaimed local artist.
New song, new album—and it’s exactly what it sounds like: “Rocknrollst☆r” is coming out at the end of July. But before that, we already have “Frank,” BIBIZA’s first new song of the year and a teaser for something big.
“Frank” can be seen as the opening chapter of a new artistic era for Austrian musician BIBIZA. The track is the first single from his upcoming album Rocknrollst☆r, due at the end of July 2026, and signals a stylistic shift toward louder, more guitar-driven rock influences while maintaining the artist’s signature Viennese swagger and irony.
A signature aspect of the new single is BIBIZA’s playful identity game around the name “Franz.” In “Frank,” he cycles through international variations of the name — Francis, François, Francesco, Franco — turning the song into a tongue-in-cheek anthem about reinvention, fame, and self-mythology – a direct connection to the mysterious “Who The F*ck Is Francis?” posters that recently appeared across Vienna as part of the album campaign.
Musically, the song marks a noticeable departure from the synth-heavy sound associated with earlier BIBIZA releases. Instead, “Frank” leans into polished guitar riffs, live drums, glam-rock attitude, and references to classic rock aesthetics — somewhere between Falco-style theatrics and Britpop-inspired rockstar fantasy. Critics describe it as intentionally oversized and self-aware, with BIBIZA embracing the image of a flamboyant “Rocknrollst☆r.”
BIBIZA has become one of the most visible figures in Austria’s contemporary pop scene, steadily building momentum through sold-out shows, high-profile collaborations, and increasingly ambitious live productions. Rather than functioning as a simple standalone release, “Frank” feels like a declaration of intent — introducing a louder, more theatrical, and distinctly rock-driven new chapter in the BIBIZA universe.
While rocking out to “Frank”, we anxiously await the upcoming album in July 2026. Hold onto your seats, folks.
