Austrian Music Export launched the capacity-building programme “Building Bridges” in 2023, focusing on training and international exchange. It is aimed at music industry professionals and thus primarily at people “behind” the artists i.e. mainly labels, publishers, management companies, etc. Eligible applicants for this call are Austrians or Austrian-based. Our next mission brings us to the UK. Deadline to apply is March 5th, 2026.
Our next mission takes us to the UK, to the most important hubs of the international music industry, and offers an ideal platform to get in touch with labels, booking agencies, promoters and media.
As part of our mission, which consists of three possible parts, we will attend industry events, get to know regional scenes better and, among other things, participate in B2B matchmaking, company visits and networking events together with colleagues from Germany.
Possible delegation trips as part of Building Bridges UK
Wide Days, 29 April – 1 May
The accreditation for the festival and conference, including participation in the curated delegates programme, will be covered, as well as a subsidy of EUR 400. Travel and accommodation must be organised independently.
Focus Wales, 7 May – 9 May
The accreditation for the festival and conference, including participation in the curated delegates programme, will be covered, as well as a subsidy of EUR 400. Travel and accommodation must be organised independently.
Trade Mission London, 2 June -4 June
Together with colleagues from Germany, Austrian participants will take part in B2B matchmaking, company visits and networking events. SXSW London will be taking place at the same time, and discounted tickets are available for programme participants on request. A subsidy of EUR 500 is included. Travel and accommodation must be organised independently.
APPLICATION DETAILS
The programme is primarily aimed at music industry professionals from all music genres, in particular, the people „behind“ the artists who are involved in the business side of things, i.e. labels, publishers, management companies and agencies. The trip is considered particularly useful for entrepreneurs who already have at least some experience in cross-border music marketing.
Due to the limited number of participants, only one person per company can be funded.
How do I apply and how are participants selected?
Please send us a short letter of motivation, no longer than one page. Include relevant personal information covering your interests, field of work and any reference productions you have already worked on or been involved in. Please also indicate which parts of the delegation trip (Wide Days, Focus Wales, Trade Mission London) you would like to participate in (we assume availability in case of acceptance). Eligible applicants are Austrians or Austrian-based.
Please send your documents to office@musicexport.at by 05 March 2026, 00:00 at the latest.
The number of participants is limited. Participants will be selected by Austrian Music Export; applicants will receive formal acceptance or rejection for funding or participation by 28 February.
What does it cost?
The mission is organised by Austrian Music Export and co-financed by subsidies from LSG producers and the Professional Association of the Film and Music Industry. Depending on the programme item, this results in a maximum possible cost subsidy of EUR 400 or EUR 500 per person. Travel and accommodation must be organised independently; accreditation for the conferences is provided by Austrian Music Export, and cost subsidies are provided upon presentation of receipts.
