BIOGRAPHY

What do you do when, instead of dancing at the local village festival, you find yourself stranded on a Greek beach with no ride back? Cousins Hannah and Laura Breitfuß turned to Retsina and playful word association games. Their first song was born, and from that very session came their distinctive band name: Cousines like Shit.

Their music, much like their origin story, is shaped by linguistic experimentation and the contrast between nonsense and deeper meaning. Their sound defies categorization as well—Cousines like Shit themselves call it AVANT TRASH. That’s also the title of their debut album, released in September 2023 on Seayou Records.

Just as they did during their first impromptu performance on that Greek beach, they still seize every opportunity for spontaneous gigs—whether in front of baffled strangers on vacation or in their hometown of Vienna.
