BIOGRAPHY

GARDENS is an Austrian indie band built around direct songwriting, restrained arrangements, and emotional clarity. The quartet: Luca Celine Müller, Peter Benedikt Mathis, Patrick Stieger, and Laura Keiblinger – combines raw guitars, soft synths, and melodic focus into songs that balance intimacy with grit.
Their debut album Flaws explores themes of mental health, early adulthood, and heartbreak with honesty and understatement. Beneath its seemingly simple structures lies a careful attention to detail and dynamics, allowing vulnerability and tension to coexist without excess. GARDENS’ songwriting favors clarity over ornament, letting atmosphere and lyrical directness carry the emotional weight.
Stylistically, the band moves between indie folk and garage-leaning indie rock, drawing comparisons to artists such as Courtney Barnett, Wet Leg, and Julia Jacklin, while maintaining a distinct and unforced voice of their own. With a sound that is both reflective and grounded, GARDENS position themselves as a band focused on connection rather than spectacle, equally suited for intimate venues and contemporary festival stages.
