Magdalena Wawra stands for German-language indie pop that impresses with authenticity, clear lyrics and an unmistakable sound. With her debut EP, shows and collaborations with artists such as
Marlo Grosshardt, Florian Paul & die Kapelle der letzten Hoffnung and MOLA, she has made a name for herself in the scene. Now a new highlight in her musical journey is on the horizon: The artist’s debut album will be released in April 2026. Created in the Zonkey studios on the outskirts of Vienna, the concept album shows impressive diversity. The sound? A homage to Neue Deutsche Welle, paired with modern synthesizers, horns and the organic “band-in-a-room” feel. It’s music, that invites you to dance, think and sometimes do both at the same time.
Catchy hooklines, playful melodies and an unmistakable voice make their sound unique. With her single “wie man tanzt” she has proven that melancholy and a driving bass are an unbeatable duo, attracting attention beyond the scene. The first album single “Orangenbäume” is also currently receiving airplay on FM4 and elsewhere.
