BIOGRAPHY

STEFAN STERZINGER, secret genius, elder statesman, godfather of craziness, grandseigneur, apothecary of anarchy are just a few titles the local music press has bestowed on the Viennese singer, songwriter and accordion player over the years. He performs the material of his respective intertest solo, as part of a trio or a quintett, for some time now with the same cohorts close to his heart: Gerald Preinfalk, Edi Köhldorfer, Franz Schaden und Jörg Mikula. Beautiful white men in suits, ruthlessly making music, paying hommage to the unexpected whilst standing sovereign on the firm ground of lived and played experience. Contemporary world music from Vienna, a pinch of jazz and handsome lyrics. Simply beautiful, old school, acoustic.

Stefan Sterzinger is known as a ‘musical transgressor’ (M. Brandstetter, Wiener), ‘secret genius’ ( W. Kralicek, Falter), as an ‘ icon of Austrian music’ and ‘grandseigneur of the Vienna music scene’ ( A. Bovelino, Kurier)
