This April, Austrian Music Export will once again be hosting musicians, music professionals and jazz heads of all descriptions at the Austrian Heartbeats umbrella stand at jazzahead!, Europe’s biggest trade fair for all things jazz-related. Moreover, we are proud to announce that Yvonne Moriel‘s sweetlife has been chosen by jazzahead’s jury of professionals to take part in the showcase festival this year! Additionally, Austrian-born, Berlin-based trumpet-player Richard Koch will be playing a showcase as well! The multi-day event takes place from April 22nd – 25th in Bremen, and – in addition to representatives from festivals, press, management, export offices and much more – includes a robust showcase festival and a “Club Night” featuring concerts in Bremen venues.

Austrian Music Export is proud to announce that Yvonne Moriel‘s sweetlife has been chosen by jazzahead’s jury of professionals to take part in the showcase festival – one of only 38 acts selected from hundreds of applicants. If you’re headed to Bremen, put it in your calendar – she’ll be playing in Halle 7 on Friday, April 24th at 8:15pm. For more info on the concert, go here.
Richard Koch
There is a magical lightness and good energy about Berlin-based, Austrian trumpeter/composer Richard Koch’s 2025 album “Rays of Light” (Fun in the church) which make it the ideal antidote to darker societal and political trends. German radio stations and critics have been irresistibly drawn to its remarkable charm and a compositional style which somehow effortlessly embraces the entire transatlantic history of pop music of the past 150 years, from the American Folk Book to internet radio. The quintet he leads – with Fabiana Striffler on violin, Valentin Butt on accordion, Igor Spallati on double bass, Nora Thiele on frame drums – is made up of top musicians. Who are also clearly having fun.
