FM4 Soundpark is a web platform, community, and radio show for and with Austrian musicians. In an ongoing collaboration, FM4’s team recommends particular artists of the moment to amplify. Today, the honor goes to: Topsy Turvy.

FM4 presents the Vienna-based trio Topsy Turvy and their second album Fighting the Ginormous Macho Nacho (Siluh Records, 2026), framing it as a loud, self-confident response to everyday sexism and toxic masculinity. The band—formed through friendship, shared musical projects, and mutual trust—channels personal experiences and broader cultural frustrations into more explicitly political songs than on their debut.

A key theme is how misogyny permeates everyday situations, especially in music scenes, shaping both the album’s title and attitude. Rather than targeting individuals, the songs reflect a general realization of structural inequality. Musically, Topsy Turvy have found their signature sound on their second album. This will appeal to people who usually fill their playlists with Amyl and the Sniffers, lose themselves in 1960s garage rock, or have a soft spot for the DIY spirit and punk.

The new album is both cathartic and empowering: a soundtrack that transforms frustration into energy, encourages solidarity, and calls out passive complicity—especially among men—while celebrating self-confidence and creative resistance.
