BIOGRAPHY

In AF90’s pop vision, anything is possible: David Bowie is quoted, references to Blondie are made, and yet dance-pop icons like Mura Masa also serve as sources of inspiration. There are no clichés, and even Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand” gets a nod.

FM4 writes, “AF90 writes his songs according to the motto ‘go big or go home’ and has therefore indulged in a live band that others can only afford after going platinum (‘This is my very cool band!’). That’s already pretty impressive. Up there is someone who has understood the smallest and some of the biggest secrets of pop.”

“Buy My Art Before I Die” reveals some of these secrets and brims with excitement and energy. Andreas Födinger, a.k.a. AF90, is no longer a stranger in the Austrian pop scene. As a founding member of “Bilderbuch,” co-writer of one of the most important Austrian songs of recent years (“Maschin”), and a member of the 2018 FM4 Amadeus Award-winning band “Farewell Dear Ghost,” Födinger decided in 2022 to take full control of his musical vision and break numerous genre boundaries.

AF90’s live setup includes a group of talented and renowned musicians who bring his dynamic and energetic sound to life on stage, rolling across the country like a Salvation Army. With a sound that is both familiar and fresh, AF90 is quickly making a name for itself as the rising “next big thing” in the world of contemporary art-pop music.
