ATZUR are the Spanish pianist and singer Patricia and Austrian-Iranian drummer Paul who have been making music together in Vienna since 2018. With a minimalist setup (classical piano, analog synthesizer and acoustic drums) they create a big and epic atmosphere. Their music lives between two worlds, between dreamy and abstract pop, and raw and immediate punk. There is depth and thoughtfulness in the lyrics, in a perfect balance with the energetic driving drums. Piano and synthesizer connect the mind, the feelings and thoughts, vulnerable but self-confident, with the body and beat, rousing and hypnotic. Their self-recorded debut EP Flesh Blood Bones was released on June 7th, 2019 via Seayou Records.

Flesh, blood and bones are the raw structure of a life, the first chapter of a new human being. Flesh Blood Bones is also the first chapter of ATZUR. It’s all about immediacy and brutality: lyrically in the expression of unbridled emotions and also musically when dry and cool drums collide with spherical synthesizers, dreamy piano melodies and a dazzling and unmistakable voice. The single “Running” and the video, shot in Barcelona by the Spanish filmmaker Hector Ferreño, illustrate this well: It´s a song about moving forward no matter what’s thrown your way. Running is like the soundtrack of a lucid dream, an introspective immersion in one’s own soul and a wake-up call from the lethargy of complacency.
