BIOGRAPHY

Clemens Rofner studied electric bass and double bass in Innsbruck, Vienna and Linz. He works as a freelance musician and is a permanent member of CLERQ, HI5, Indian Air, Jakob Zimmermann Trio, Dusha Connection, the Manu Delago Circadian Ensemble & Handmade, Gene Pritsker Trio, Waxamilion and tiktaalik.
He has worked with the Tirol Jazz Orchestra, Mino Cinelu, Jane Getter, Sanjeev Shankar, Franz Hackl, Adam Holzman, Kristian Järvi & the Absolute Ensemble (EST/USA), Baltic Sea Philharmonic, Reinier Baas, Florian Bramböck, Wolfgang Puschnig, and many more.

To date, Clemens Rofner can be heard on around 25 recordings as a sideman / band member / composer; Concert tours have taken him across Europe, Asia and North America. As a workshop lecturer, Clemens Rofner taught in Austria, Nepal, Romania, India, China & Mexico. In 2021 he released his debut as band leader and sole composer – CLERQ – with Kai Schumacher, Adam Holzman and Simon Springer.

Clemens Rofner is co-director of the Outreach Music Festival and the Academy in Schwaz / Tyrol, as well as producer and organizer of cultural projects and concepts for the self- founded cultural association “head cinema”.
