BIOGRAPHY

Hailing from the suburbs of Vienna, the alternative pop/rock band Hunger first formed in early 2014, when Daniel Rumpel, Johannes Herbst and vocalist Lucas Fendrich started creating cinematic and atmospheric songs together. In 2015 the trio decided to relocate to L.A., where the band released the first single, “Gravity”, followed by the EP “Amused” in 2017. The sound of Hunger – a cinematic blend of new age alt-rock and euro synth-pop, according to Earmilk – has garnered global attention: Their track ‘Amused’ was featured as part of the soundtrack to Netflix’s ’13 Reasons Why’, on several TV and online commercials, and amassed over 3 million Spotify plays.

After another string of releases, including the singles “Light It Up” and “Honey”, Hunger followed up with their debut album “Mosaik” in December 2019. The band has toured internationally and performed at festivals throughout Europe. The outfit cites influences across from pop to alternative and electronic, including artists such as Bon Iver, Glass Animals, MGMT, M83, Thrice and The Naked And Famous . Many have drawn parallels to Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, The 1975, The Neighbourhood and 30 Seconds To Mars but Hunger embodies their own sound, as visceral and evocative as their name suggests.
