BIOGRAPHY

Born in St. Pölten (1988)
Studied at Gustav Mahler Konservatorium Vienna; Anton-Bruckner University, Linz; Swiss Jazz School / HKB Bern

Was given the “Hans Koller Prize- New York Scholarship” in 2011, BMUKK Start-Stipendium 2014, Bremen Jazzpreis 2014 (with Kompost3), Bawag P.S.K. Next Generation Award 2014, Klangforum Wien premiered Koenig’s composition “Stereogram1” at Konzerthaus Vienna in 2018, Artist in Residence at the 40th International Jazzfestival Saalfelden in 2019, SHAPE Artist 2021

His main projects are currently: Kœnig (solo), Mopcut, Kompost 3, Malcolm Braff Trio, König Riegler and Synesthetic Octet
