BIME (Bizkaia International Music Experience) is a new conference and festival which will take place in Bilbao from November 19th to 23rd. Bilbao is the capital of the province of Biscay, with a metropolitan area of nearly one million inhabitants that extends along the length of the Bilbao estuary. At the beginning of the last century it experienced heavy industrialisation, which made it the epicentre of the second most industrialised region in Spain, behind Barcelona. It is now a booming city of services, which is in an advanced process of aesthetic, social and economic revitalisation, led by the symbolic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
Titled “European Music Conference on Gaming, App and Digital Revenue Opportunities” the new festival BIME explores the relationship between music, gaming and new tech and includes debates concerning new revenue models that are changing the modern music landscape. BIME will approach these topics with the help of a number of high-level industry representatives from music, gaming and new technology.
BIME will also have a large focus on the Latin-American Music Industry from the main festivals, booking agencies, record labels to the new tech companies. Countries like Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil will have a strong presence during this conference.
The festival is made up of three components: BIME PRO is a place for professionals to create and share new business opportunities. For three days, all PRO attendees may attend different conferences, lectures and showcases. BIME MARKET will be the exhibition area where the public attending will have the opportunity of making contact with the music industry’s major companies: labels, festivals, digital platforms, social networks, training centers and many others.
BIME LIVE will host showcases in Bilbao’s Exhibition Centre (BEC!) and live concerts in several concert halls. The music festival will bring artist like Rich Aucoin, Manic Street Preachers, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Patrick Wolf, Mercury Rev, Gossip and many more to Bilbao.
From Austria, Gin Ga will present their new album Yes/No on Wednesday, November 20 (Bilborock).
