BIOGRAPHY

BAITS oscillate between punk energy, pop instinct, and the sweaty charm of the ’90s – raw,  melodic, and always a little unpredictable, driven by rough edges placed with intent.  With tracks like “Sleep with You” and “Take Me Out” they haven’t just conquered Austrian radio station FM4, but also found their way onto international playlists and even the big  screen (MOND, 2024, directed by Kurdwin Ayub). After their uncompromising debut Never  Enough (2021), their latest acclaimed album All Filler No Killer (2024) followed – a record  that not only sounds incredible, but also never gets dull. On stage, BAITS deliver an intense  experience every time – more like a cathartic outburst than punk rock routine.

Carried by Sonja Maier’s powerful, emotionally charged vocals, BAITS’ music blends anger with  melancholy, pulsing with an overwhelming energy that recalls iconic acts like The Distillers, Pixies, PJ Harvey, and a hint of Jay Reatard. They’ve proven this over the past years on around 200 stages all across Europe (AT, DE, CH, FR, NL, IT, CZ, SK, HU). In recognition of their impact, BAITS were nominated for the  Austrian Amadeus Music Award in the Hard/Heavy category in both 2024 and 2025.  Currently, the band is working on fresh material with a new line-up, aiming to turn things up even louder.
