BIOGRAPHY
Lorenz Ambeek is a songwriter and session musician based in Vienna and Amsterdam.
His debut “Look At Me Now” blends 2010s Americana with candid lyrics and a touch of cynicism. It’s his quest for the world, not himself, appealing to emotion-lovers untouched by melancholy. Written across Amsterdam and Vienna, produced in 10 days with Lukas Klement and Ross Stanciu, the album’s authentic live sound features an array of instruments. Themes range from suburban escapism’s modest impact (“Linoleum”) to clashing with bourgeois morality (“Alienated”), humorously highlighting his failure to secure state funding for his basic guitar skills (“Baby Shower”).
Lorenz’s appeal to the youth is evident in million-plus streams, radio play, and the enigmatic self-reflection in the album’s title track.
