MOTSA is an idiosyncratic electronic sound tinkerer who also likes to push stylistic boundaries in his music. MOTSA (alias Valerio Dittrich) – born to both Austrian and Russian parents, grown up in Scotland and now living in Vienna – loves to dance along the borders of musical genres and to weave danceable beats together with catchy melodies, electronic experiments, and a certain amount of pop into something refreshingly new. The sound that MOTSA makes is one that has attracted international attention and found its fans.

Releasing his debut EP on Fatboy Slim’s prestigious Southern Fried Records, receiving critical acclaim across the board, MOTSA decided to turn away from the notion of formulaic dance rhythms soon after. However, it was his EP “Petricolor”, released on his very own imprint in November 2016, which really earned the producer widespread critical acclaim, with lead track “Colours” amassing over 4 million Spotify streams and counting. This also began the debut of MOTSA’s live-set which he is touring across Europe, but also South Africa and Mexico, in 2018. It marked an amazing watershed moment for Valerio where he truly highlighted his enormous potential. Influenced by the social and political climate of the modern world, his debut album, “Perspectives”, was inspired by his acute awareness of modern society’s dependence on technology, and the social media bubble also responsible for globally polarizing our current civilization. “Perspectives” will be released on June 7, 2019.
