BIOGRAPHY

Austrian-born, Brooklyn-based drummer and composer Peter Kronreif has built an international career across jazz and contemporary music. Early collaborations with Harry Sokal, Martin Reiter, Philipp Nykrin, Johannes Enders and Alegre Corrêa brought him to more than 20 countries and earned him the Hans-Koller “Sideman of the Year” Prize.  As a bandleader, he released Gloaming (2010) and Aeronautics (2021) with his group WAYFARERS, which has toured Europe extensively. Since moving to New York, Kronreif has worked with a wide range of artists including the Le Boeuf Brothers, Allan Harris, Seamus Blake, Donny McCaslin, John Medeski, Thana Alexa, Bette Smith, Ray Angry, and others.

He also appears on Remy LeBoeuf’s Grammy-nominated album ´Architecture of Storms´.  A 2021 MacDowell Fellowship sparked his parallel work as a songwriter and producer, leading to his self-produced indie-rock project CROWNĒ.  In 2025, he joined the Kunst-Universität Graz (KUG) as Professor of Jazz Drums.
