BIOGRAPHY

The Crispies are Tino Romana (vocals), Rob Wolfe (guitar), Parsa Sarraf (bass), and Peter Ferdinand (drums). They mix the full spectrum of modern urban music from Diplo via Tyler The Creator to Lil Peep (RIP) with Ty Segall- and Wavves-inspired garage rock and create a bastard that contorts all its ingredients beyond recognition. Formed in Wolfe’s basement in 2014, their music emanates the tension between boredom and excess, between self-mockery and the sincerity of rock‘n’roll clichés in leather jackets and ripped jeans.

The band itself likes to compare their music to analogue photography: spontaneous snapshots, beautiful at times, slightly kaput at others. Dubbed “an UFO on the borders of rock and post-punk, electro and rap” by Rolling Stone, The Crispies released their debut album Death Row Kids in October 2016, followed by Fake Leather (Seayou Records) in 2018.
